Life has a way of smoothing our rough edges, kind of like how the ocean tumbles glass until it becomes something beautiful and soft. That's what these three paintings are about, finding that calm, peaceful part of ourselves that's always been there.

These pieces capture that "aha" moment when you suddenly feel really at peace. The feeling when everything just clicks and you're calm and centered. I was inspired by the soft soothing blues and greens of sea glass.

I painted these when I was in a pretty relaxed headspace, just letting things flow naturally without forcing anything. There's this Japanese concept called Ma, basically the power of empty space and quiet moments, and I tried to build that into these works. They're not trying to grab your attention or shout at you. Instead, they're more like a gentle nudge toward feeling calm.

The whole idea is that peace isn't something you have to work super hard to find. It's more a knowing that it's already there, and sometimes we just need to stop overthinking long enough to notice it. These paintings are meant to help with that, like little reminders to take a breath and chill out.

I hope when you look at these, you remember that underneath all the daily chaos and worry, there's this steady, peaceful part of you that's always available. You don't have to earn it or chase after it, it's just there when you're ready to tune into it.

The paintings draw inspiration from Zen ideas about finding grace in simplicity and energised calm.
