Petals For Armor moves into something more whispered, more contemplative. I worked with translucent layers of paint, building delicate washes of rose, lavender, and sage that seem to breathe across the canvas. I allowed the white space to remain untouched in places, letting its pristine quality become an active participant in the composition.

This work embraces the Japanese concept of ma - the eloquent pause, the meaningful emptiness that gives life to what surrounds it.

While the pastel hues appear to drift aimlessly at first glance, deeper observation reveals how each colour placement creates intentional intervals of rest, much like the spaces between notes that make music possible, or the silence between words that gives them weight.
